Quick Review: Great moisturising properties, but too heavy for normal-oily skin.

Full Review Notes:

I purchased this thinking that 'oil free' = 'shine free,' and this product had set me to rights. The packaging is sturdy plastic with a pump, with the distinctive Freederm design. The pump is great, as it's hygienic and since it's the type that has a base that 'goes up' the tube everytime you pump you don't get as much waste as the squeezy tube packaging. Unfortunately, the pump does dispense a fair bit of product (the picture shows the amount of product you get after a full pump), so some may find that a little annoying if they want to use a different amount and the pump prevents it.

A full pump.

The moisturise is a silky lotion that slowly melts from the temperature of your skin, and has a faint smell that goes away (there is no parfum).

I'm assuming the niacinamide is the spot treating ingredient, and while some studies do show that niacinamide provides some benefit to acne-prone skin, it does need to be a certain percentage at minimum to be effective and there's no way of knowing if the actual percentage from the packaging. I didn't see much effect from continuous use on any spots that I had.

This moisturiser does not work as a daytime moisturiser for me (which is why I bought it in the first place) as it is too moisturising for my normal-oily skin. It's too greasy, and I get a fantastic shine even if I only apply half a pump of product. I'm currently using it as a night time moisturiser to finish it, and it works well- with one full pump slathered on my face overnight, I'd wake up with my skin plump and moisturised.

Greasiness and shine are dealbreakers, so the search for a light daytime moisturiser continues.
Verdict: Better suited for drier skins, too greasy and shiny for oily skin.
